For homeowners, installing heat pumps can be an extremely energy-efficient form of space heating and cooling, provided they are sized, installed and used correctly. Ground Heat has been helping homeowners manage their energy use for decades. We offer the complete heat pump package, including designing the system and maintaining it as part of our after-care service. Each installation is unique, and our engineers follow the highest industry standards. We have held Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation since November 2010; we are also accredited with the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, Qualitymark (GDGC), Gas Safe, Trustmark and the Green Homes Grant scheme.
As part of our package, we offer a free consultation to discuss your renewable energy options and ensure that we offer the best solution for your requirements. Initially, we offer a phone consultation. If you wish to progress further, we will ask for any property plans that you have to ascertain your renewable-heating needs. We will also use the plans to assess the site. Later, we will conduct a complete site survey, which will be conducted by our graduate mechanical engineers, who perform a room-by-room heat loss calculation to size the pumps to MCS standard MIS 3005. Our engineers also estimate the size of both the ground loops or bore field and the heat emitters to the BS EN 12831 standard. A detailed quotation is then provided. We are available at any time to answer your questions or provide further information.
Our highly skilled engineers follow the design specification and install all aspects of the project, including boreholes, ground loops, excavation works, radiators and/or under-floor equipment, and plant room. You may wish to undertake trenching to facilitate installing the ground loops or other aspects of the installation, which is entirely your choice. Ground Heat engineers will always be available to explain the system and controls and the best way to use your heat pump to guarantee comfort levels.
After installation, we curate a complete handover pack, including heat loss calculations; MCS certificate; compliance sheet; building control; third-party, warranty-backed guarantee; commissioning sheet; schematic; customer warranties; and user manuals. A remote 24/7 monitoring service ensures that heat pumps run at maximum efficiency all year. Moreover, our engineers can also design and install other renewable technologies to run alongside the pump, such as batteries, solar PV and demand side response. We also design and install under-floor systems and detail the specifications for heating swimming pools.
